In Search of Earth Mother
Where are the women
The mothers, grandmas, daughters
Sisters too?
Why don’t we ever
talk about the ones
that birthed the men
that keep trying
to control
The man
Where are those mothers?
That birthed
Batista
Somoza
Trujillo
Where are the sisters of
Bolivar
Louverture
Zapata
too?
Didn’t they birth or
take care all of you
Where are the women
That fought beside Pancho Villa
and Emiliano for the freedom
of the people
Where are the women
That fought with FARC
The guerillas of Columbia
With the ideologies that
Strengthened the fight
Against the anti-communist regimes
Where are they now?
and why don’t we know?
Where are the women
we just don’t know
Until they die,
like the Mirabal sisters,
the nuns in Nicaragua,
Who else can we name?
Eva Peron
How could we forget?
The woman who fought for
the women’s suffrage
The lives of the oppressed,
The poor
The strong woman behind the frame
of the presidential man
The Argentinian women
searched for their lost ones
While the men, raped and kidnapped
It was the men
following the controls of the USA
that tolled in supporting
dictators
That only dictated
Who had the right to survive
The men murdered the honest,
the innocent,
the flock of sheep
That mother earth raised
to properly behave
and some men found a way
to revolt against
The men that had no corazon
y alma
but only the desire
for greed and control
of those who yearned for the
power of the people
Not the selective few
that could not distinguish
the difference between
the devil and man
They couldn’t find the sand
that divides the ocean and the land
The earth Mother created men like
Che Guevara
To fight for the equality
of all,
Extending his selfless hand into
a governmental stance
On communal profits and land,
The earth Mother created men like
Marcus Garvey
to empower African-Americans
and take them back to
Their home land
The earth Mother created men
to save the lives of those
who fight everyday
for their
Basic human rights
to survive and thrive
unlike the twisted way
the devil man thinks he tries
Where are the mothers?
Doesn’t your mind ever
wander and wonder?
Where are the mother’s that survived
the evil deeds of Trujillo's
sick perversion,
The mother’s that fought in the
Mexican Revolutionary war?
The mother’s that raised the
children to be whole and pure
Where are the women that survived
the evil deeds of human nature,
Or maybe, it was nurture
Of the idea
of power and command
Causing Europeans to colonize
the lush land
of the natives
While the U.S. enslaved
and invaded,
to seek the
the forbidden fruit
that the land produced
Not for the man,
but for the women of the earth
that cultivated the terrain
with their tender care
Not for the devils that
tormented the citizens in
the depths of their
U.S. funded torture lairs
But for those that
wanted to heal the damage
ensued by the white man’s
Ferocious roar
Now tell me,
Do you know where the
Women are?
We want to find them.
